Elliptical Louvres That Keep the Light and Lose the Glare
The Brief
This home had windows that copped the full force of the day. Plenty of light came in, but so did glare, heat and a clear line of sight straight into the rooms. The owners wanted privacy and relief from the sun without boxing the windows in or losing the open, airy feel that made the space work.
The Solution
We designed a set of elliptical aluminium louvres, finished in Pearl White to sit softly against the home. The 89mm blades are shaped like a gentle aerofoil, so they screen the view and cut the direct sun while still letting daylight and fresh air move through. It reads as a considered, architectural detail rather than a heavy screen bolted over the glass.
Every set was made to measure and installed to line up neatly with the existing windows. The Pearl White powder coat suits a bayside setting, holds its finish over the years and asks for nothing more than the occasional rinse.
The Result
The rooms feel calm now rather than exposed. Harsh afternoon glare is softened to a comfortable light, the heat coming through the glass is noticeably down, and passers by no longer get a clear view inside. Open a window and the breeze still finds its way through the blades.
It is a small change that makes a daily difference. More comfort, more privacy, and a finish that looks like it was always meant to be there.
